The Space for Women Who Are Tired of Feeling Tired
Rested nights. Calmer days. Mental health care that finally feels like it fits your life.
“I help women who do it all stop running on fumes — so they can sleep through the night, calm their racing thoughts, and finally feel present in their own lives again”.
Welcome to The Serene Sanctuary
I’m Sara Spence, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over a decade in mental health care. I created The Serene Sanctuary because too many women are handed quick fixes or rushed through appointments when what they really need is a trusted space to slow down, breathe, and reset.
Mental health has always been personal to me. I was a teen mom, raising a daughter while still finding my own footing. As a survivor of domestic violence, I know the strength it takes to keep moving forward when life feels heavy. And with loved ones who have struggled with mental illness and addiction, I’ve seen firsthand how much difference it makes to have care that is patient, compassionate, and free of judgment.
That’s why this space exists: for women juggling careers, family, or caregiving while secretly battling anxiety, burnout, or ADHD symptoms. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that helps you:
Fall asleep without your brain replaying the day — and wake up rested.
Focus long enough to finish your tasks without ten tabs open and constant distraction.
Walk into meetings or family dinners without that knot of anxiety in your chest.
Enjoy your evenings again instead of collapsing exhausted and wired.
Feel like yourself again — not just the version of you that’s holding it all together for everyone else.
This isn’t cookie-cutter care, and it’s not rushed. It’s thoughtful, personalized treatment — blending medication management (when helpful) with lifestyle support around sleep, nutrition, hormones, and stress. The goal? Care that actually works in your real life.
I know how exhausting it feels to keep pushing through, showing up for everyone else, while inside you’re anxious, drained, and running on fumes. You don’t need another rushed visit where you barely speak before being handed a prescription. You need care that feels personal, supportive, and actually helps you feel better. That’s what I do.
Here’s how I help:
Sleep better. Fall asleep without your brain replaying the entire day and wake up rested.
Calm your anxiety. Walk into meetings, family dinners, or social events without that constant knot in your chest.
Focus again. Stop bouncing between ten tabs and actually finish tasks without the overwhelm.
Find balance. Learn to manage burnout so you’re not just crashing at the end of every day.
Feel like yourself again. Not just “getting by” — but actually feeling present, steady, and clear.
The difference here? I listen. You’ll have the time and space to share your whole story — your symptoms, your concerns, the things you’ve been carrying that most providers rush past. I don’t talk over you or throw out quick fixes without context. We slow down, listen deeply, and then build a plan together that fits with your life and your schedule.
My approach blends thoughtful medication management (when it’s the right fit) with lifestyle support around sleep, stress, nutrition, hormones, and nervous system regulation. Nothing rushed. Nothing cookie-cutter. Just care that’s designed around your goals, your pace, and your real life.
I’m not here to judge or lecture you — I’m here because I understand how heavy this can feel, and I know things can get better with the right support. You don’t have to keep carrying this alone. This is the space where you finally get to exhale, feel understood, and start moving toward the calm and clarity you’ve been craving.

This isn’t a rushed, one-size-fits-all appointment. It’s modern mental health care that respects your time, your privacy, and your whole self.
Meet Your Provider
Compassionate care from a woman who truly understands.
I’m Sara Spence, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and founder of The Serene Sanctuary. I built this practice for women like you—women who are doing it all, but quietly running on empty.
As a woman, a mom to a teenage daughter, and someone who’s spent over a decade in mental health care, I know how hard it can be to carry the weight of everything while trying to keep it all together. I also know how healing it can be to finally have a space that’s just for you.
That’s what The Serene Sanctuary is—a calm, judgment-free space where your mental wellness comes first. You’ll never be rushed, brushed off, or treated like a number here.
My care blends evidence-based psychiatry with a whole-person approach. We’ll work together to explore not just medication, but also sleep, hormones, nutrition, routines, mindfulness, and anything else that supports your well-being.
Outside of sessions, I’m usually out in nature, listening to music, thrifting, and spending time with my daughter and loved ones. I believe in creating a life that feels good on the inside—not just one that looks good from the outside.
This is care that gets you. Support that fits your life. And a provider who’s right here with you—every step of the way.
Services at a Glance
This Is Your Moment.
You spend so much time showing up for everyone else.
Here’s a space that’s just for you.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or just know something needs to change—this is your invitation to pause, breathe, and take one small step toward feeling better.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, get to know the process, and decide if this feels right. No pressure. No commitment. Just support, clarity, and a calm space to be heard.
A Quiet Space Just for You
In a world that demands so much from you, this is one space that doesn’t.
The Serene Sanctuary is more than a practice—it’s a pause. A private, one-on-one space to tune out the noise and finally focus on you.
Here, you’re not just another name on a chart. You’ll meet with the same provider every time (me, Sara Spence, PMHNP-BC), in secure virtual sessions that fit your life. No need to explain yourself over and over. No pressure to perform. Just consistent, compassionate care that meets you where you are.
You deserve a space that feels calm, confidential, and completely your own.
Why This Is Different
This is a woman-owned, women-focused space created by someone who gets it. You’re not just another chart or diagnosis here. You’re a whole person—with a history, a schedule, a life—and your care will reflect that.
I don’t believe in “just take a pill” or cookie-cutter advice. I believe in real, sustainable care that meets you where you are.
