Personal Safety Tips
A few simple habits can add an extra layer of safety when you’re out, traveling, dating, or spending time alone.
Share your location or plans with someone you trust when meeting someone new or going somewhere unfamiliar.
Check the driver, vehicle, and license plate before entering a rideshare.
Keep your drink with you and don’t accept an open drink from someone you don’t know or trust.
If you suddenly feel unusually intoxicated, dizzy, confused, or extremely tired, tell someone immediately and get somewhere safe.
Meet new dates in public and arrange your own transportation there and home.
Keep your phone charged when you’re out and consider carrying a small portable charger.
Pay attention to unexpected AirTag or unknown-tracker notifications on your phone.
Periodically review who can see your location and which apps have location access.
Avoid posting your exact location publicly while you are still there, especially when traveling alone.
Trust your instincts. You do not owe anyone politeness, an explanation, or continued interaction when something feels wrong.
